Why i joined facebook and how it proves my horoscopes are off track

If you are just checking this for the week, then look below and you will be surprised to see that i posted yesterday too. Yup. trying to get back on a regular posting schedule. The problem is coming up with topics, but i think i am ready to take on the challenge. If not there is a whole wide world of webs that i can search for conversation pieces.

I joined Facebook.. I had heard from a long lost HS friend, wait, i think it was more like middle school, oh my god i am old- that another long lost MS friend was on facebook, so i joined to stalk, i mean get in touch with her. Since i have joined there are so many people on facebook that you wouldn't imagine. I mean i have my old College adviser as one of my friends. IS that scary??? But i have regained some friendships that i have very much missed and have gotten in touch with some people that their names were long gone from my memory bank (and some whose names will be permanently scarred- opps i mean etched in there forever) It's good to find friends from the past, see what they are up to and try to remember those lost nights and weekends away from school doing what it was we did back then. I read one person's post that said they wanted to go to the old house where all the house parties were in college and see if they can rent it for a night, not to party in, but to just sit on the front porch and drink keg beer and watch the traffic go by. But i think back in the day there was a sign out front that said "You Honk, We Drink"...so it gave reason to watch traffic.
So, what does this have to do with my horoscope? Well about a month ago I started noticing that my horoscope was not really following what was going on in my life. I read it every morning and try to see when things come up that i was warned about or given advice about.. most of the time there is something. I realize it is all mostly the odds and chances of situations and a predisposition to be looking for them simply because i am expecting them from reading my horoscope.. I really do get it.. I am not that crazy.. But like i said a few weeks ago things just kind of stopped lining up. just strange when you can notice things day by day and then all of a sudden nothing. So a day goes by that i am like, wow, that horoscope was nothing like my day actually was. Then two days, then a week, now it has been about four weeks since it has been even remotely close. But i do recall when it started getting off track was right about when the horoscopes were reading that I would be in touch with friends from times gone past.. at the time there was nothing.. Didn't hear from anyone i didn't otherwise keep in touch with. Then all of a sudden, the end of last week i have been in touch with a TON of people from long ago. Hopefully they will start getting back on track there were some great thing that was supposedly to happen in these last few weeks.

In other news:
Yesterday the merger between XM and Sirius satellites went through. It was only 18 months in the making and finally decided on by a bunch of Republicans. Can you believe it? Well i have to say well done, and listening to the talk on Howard Stern this morning, seems some radio people are thinking about stitching side for this national election simply because of this.. Opps to the Dems I say. Not a good time to be picking fights with your friends.

And to try to bring back an old tradition, here are interesting tid-bits about today...
~Today is Contrast Day, a day to appreciate music by playing Vivaldi, Bo Diddley, Jaci Valesquez, and Johnny Cash.
~Today is National Cheesecake Day
~The 4-day Maine Lobster Festival begins today. Of course, the Lobster Fest is not just for lobsters -- anyone can go
~Today is Cubbyhole Appreciation Day
~Today is Paperback Day, marking the start of the paperback book revolution with publication of Penguin #1, Ariel, A Life of Shelley by Andre Maurois in London this date in 1935. Books had been published with soft covers in Leipzig, Germany, as early as 1841, but never really caught on.- and i actually bought a paperback just this morning.. guess i was celebrating!!! happy reading!
