Dear Red States,

Dear Red States,
We've decided we're leaving. We intend to form our own country, and
we're taking the other Blue States with us. In case you aren't aware,
that includes Hawaii, California, Oregon, Washington, Minnesota,
Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, New York, and all of the Northeastern
states. After this election, we'll be adding Colorado and New Mexico.
We believe this split will be beneficial to the nation, especially to
the people of our new country: Nuevo California.

To sum up briefly: You get Texas, Oklahoma and all the slave states; we
get stem cell research, the best beaches, and the best ski resorts.
We get Elliot Spitzer; you get Ken Lay. We get the Statue of Liberty; you
get Dollywood. We get Intel and Microsoft; you get WorldCom. We get
Stanford, Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Cal Tech, MIT and Columbia; you get
Ole Miss. We get 85 percent of America's venture capital and
entrepreneurs; you get Alabama. We get two-thirds of the tax revenue;
you get to make the folks in the red states pay their fair share.

Since our aggregate divorce rate is 22 percent lower than that of the
Christian Coalition, we get a bunch of happy families and you get a
bunch of under-educated single moms.

Please be aware that Nuevo California will be pro-choice and anti-war,
and we'll need all of our citizens back from Iraq at once.
If you need people to fight, ask your evangelicals. They apparently have
kids they're willing to send to their deaths for no purpose, and they
don't mind if you don't televise their kid's caskets coming home. We do
wish you success in Iraq and hope that those Weapons of Mass Destruction
turn up for you, but we're not willing to spend any more of our money in
Bush's Quagmire.

With the Blue States, we will control 80 percent of the country's fresh
water, 90 percent of lettuce and pineapple, 92 percent of the other
fresh fruit, 97 percent of America's quality wines (you can serve French
wines
at your state dinners), 90 percent of all cheese, 90 percent of
the high tech industry, most of the U.S. low-sulfur coal, all living
redwoods, sequoias and condors, and all the Ivy League and Seven
Sister schools. We also get the Great Lakes and Yosemite.

In the Red States, you will have to cope with 88 percent of all obese
Americans and their projected health care costs, 100 percent of the
tornadoes, 94 percent of hurricanes, 99 percent of Southern Baptists,
virtually 100 percent of all televangelists, Rush Limbaugh, Bob Jones
University
, and Clemson.

Additionally, in the Red States, 38 percent actually believe Jonah was
swallowed by a whale; 62 percent believe life is sacred unless it
involves the death penalty or gun ownership; 44 percent claim that
evolution is only a theory; and 53 percent insist that Saddam Hussein was
involved in 9/11.
And 61 percent of you crazy bastards believe you have higher moral
standards than those of us on the left.

Peace out,
The Blue States

Dancing with the Devil

Well John McCain is in my building.. It just feels weird... like not right...

I had no idea he was coming today.. Kinda wished i didn, would have done something.. but when i was driving into work today. (that's right, i said driving, but i will get to that later) so there was a car parked on the road that had a sign on the back window that said, McStrain and Falin.... thought that was strange, but didn't think any more of it. But when i got into my office, someone said that McCain was coming to the studio to have a general press conference, and answer questions from all of the Denver stations. We are a "switzerland" studio I guess. I just walked down there and there are a ton of men in suits, (not something you see here often) and then a bunch of Women that are too blonde and too made up to be normal Janes, so i will assume, one was Cindy and more were TV anchors to ask the questions.
I have to say that the women in accounting are going CRAZY!! they are getting so loud talking about McCain and stuff...
I have never heard accountants be so excited about anything but getting money back...
funny...
well he is here and i didn't throw any stones.. I know all my democratic friends would be proud.. not stooping to the low lever of slinging mud..
off soap box and headed for lunch.

update on the barefoot life

Well I told you all that my car was making a funny sound.. and yeh, well, it busted.. That's right. right as i was driving home from work last week, i was lightly chatting to my mom and the engine made a BAD sound. I didn't totally freak out as the car was still able to go in the forward direction when i pressed the gas. So i continued home. wishing and praying that it would make the 10 mile trip to my house with all the stop lights and such.. It did, but when i pulled in the driveway, that would be the last time you would hear this engine run. It took me a about a week to get my funds together to tow it to the shop. I don't think the car was in their posession for more than 10 seconds before my mechanic was on the phone to me saying it was bad news. You see I threw a rod in the bottom end onf my motor.. So what does that mean?? well it means that the car is dead. Have you ever seen a Subaru Outback that is only worth $200?? Well i got one for you.
So i have become the newest participant in Public Transportation.. It is an experience that's for sure.. Not bad though, Denver has some great routes and it takes me directly to work. I really can't complain, (but i still do)
So this week we are trying to get my boyfriend's old subaru up and runing so i can at least take my dog to his swimming therapy.. Shut up, it helps him, and NO i am not the one that needs therapy for taking my dog there..:) we just need to be getting back there soon.. He needs some major help.

On my favorite topic, Palin Sucked ass on SNL, as predicted.. the only thing she was allowed to say were the two lines that are stated on EVERY SHOW. "live from New York, It's saturday night" and "Have a great day and pleasent tomorrow" after the news. I like that Chevy Chase said she couldn't improv her way out of a paper sac.. but then agian, she wasn't really expected to was she?? I love that Alec Baldwin slammed her right to her face. that was great :)

So, no car, no money in my savings.. i am screwed.. but smiling i guess.. I do still have a roof over my head, thank the lord..

and with no money, i guess it is good that i didn't get my Phish tickets.. I think i am going to wait for them to come to Denver or Vegas.. Vegas is much better than Hampton VA any day... But I did get my Panic new years tickets and we have pretty good seats. They could have been closer, but we will figure that out when we get to the show.. I have to get through halloween first...

Well that's about it today. I have finished the story on Marble and now i am in the exciting story of world finances.. WHOO HOO i know, lucky, lucky me..

have a good night and a pleasent tomorrow..

Thursday, October 9

good thing i don't need that money right now...

HOLY SHIT, i just saw the CBS headline which is "Dow falls off a cliff" no freaking kidding.. WOW!!!
that's a tumble.. And with my car in the driveway waiting for me to get an idea if i wanted to fix it again, and again, and again, or just turn it in and try to steal money from my trust to put a small down payment on another car.. well thanks to all this financial trouble, i no longer have a trust fund ot think about.. Well that's great.. THANKS BUSH for all your policies that made it possible for me to loose everything my family had worked HARD during the Clinton years to save for me..
like i said it's a good think i don't need it.. I totally feel for everyone that does.. It's going to be a nasty few more weeks till the election.

on other news, there is no other news.. Panic tickets started being received today for mail orders, so i am expecting mine to be delivered.. at least they better be.. i don't want ticket master tickets, but as long as it gets me in the door, i guess i have to take what i can.

Off to visit my friend up in the mountains for pizza and tv night.. ITS SURVIVOR NIGHT...
have a great night.

Tuesday, October 7

no need to guess which side of the fence i am on.

Well there isn't much going on in the world today to talk about.. i mean it's not like our finances are in the toilet, our president has got a case of senior-itous, just wanting to get out with out losing his head and well to be honest, i can't understand how they haven't pulled Aston Kutcher out of the white House bushes for him to scream " YOU GOT PUNKED" to the whole nation and then announcing who the real republican VP nomination is days before the election..
But i am sure they have that all orchestrated better than i could even imagine. I can see all the GOP coordinators trying to get those darn voting machines to put McCain for every vote.. rigging those things are hard. I get it.. It takes time.. Well they only got a month left.
SNL has kept me entertained these past few weeks, and althogh it makes me shutter to think of the next four years of Palin, i think Tina Fea would welcome the idea. BTW- side program note to the SNL producers.. Palin ribbing on Tina??? I just don't get the joke.. AND I would rather vote for Tina Few for VP than her.. but I guess i will see where they think this is going to go. Sounds like a doomed writing staff to me..

So, on a lighter note, it is turning cool out once again. I have had to start brining in my avocado plant in at night. Something tells me that frosting temps are not ideal for avocada plants.

I have started on a new blanket. I am not sure what it is yet. you see i started trying to make strips of differnt colored triangles and i quickly discovered that triangles take a lot of patients and percicness to sew, so i decided thatn instead of loosing all the work i had already done. i was going to make the triangle parts the boarder. So now i am starting on the blocks to make up the quilt. I am really excited to get into this. After my HUGE blanket i made of patches, this has much more of a plan and a purpose, so it I am trying to be a little more carful and accurate with my measuring and cutting and stitching. My sisters craft skills didn't rub off on me too much but she is so creative, it's hard not to get inspired.

Lately i have been working on a story about the marble the replaced the top of the tomb of the Unknown soldier. the marble came from colorado. pretty intertesting.. I have learned a lot about the tomb itself and the traditions that are still carried on there today (with the 24 hour guards)
pretty cool stuff..

three days and Panic is back on the road. but i have to wait until December for them to come out here for NYE. That will be really exciting.. I will be VERY glad to see them by then.

That's about it for me.. have a great tuesday.

PHISHING PHOR PHUN

They are back, and hopefully making a tour out of it.. Right now they are just saying three shows at Hampton Col. Last time they did this, went oh Hiatus and came back with shows at Hampton, we flew back from Colorado for them. And they were good. I remember having a good time... But i am not so sure we are ready to plop down the cash it takes right now. I mean just to GO to the shows is $336.00, and i know that because i already put my name on the lottery list to get tickets. And I do understand that i just said i wasn't going to try to go, but come on MAN!! i am not a music addict who will not TRY to get tickets.. So that's just a way in the door. Then you have to tack on hotel for 4 nights, (three nights of shows always requires a day of getting there or a day of recovery) and plane fare to get my butt to VA.. starting to sound expensive, right???

Well i am on the list and we will see. I will know what my standing is before my boyfriends birthday, so i might already have a gift in mind.. we'll see.. He's pretty set on not going. Rumors are that they will be here in May, so we might just wait for that..

Well sorry i have not posted in a while. I have been busy entertaining bpyfriend's parents, being pissed off beyond beliefe at our political system and the people who choose to engage in it (Regester to vote and vote Obama) and watching my savings that i need to buy a house go down this week, with hopes that i can get my money back before i need to cash in.

heard a nasty sound in my engine of my car this moring. so i am kind of scared to start it up, but at lunch time i am going to take it for a spin, and maybe find myself at the repair shoppe.. but i really hope not..

Palin?biden debate is tomorrow, and you know i will be tuning in to see what the next SNL sketch will be about.. I love how Tina Fey didn't even change a from Palin's interview with Katy Curric for teh skit on SNL.. scarry that she didn't have to. And just to get on my soap box for one second.. I heard Palin say that she is "finnally representing Joe six pack regualr american in Washington." well to be honest, I don't think i WANT a joe six pack making international decisions about and for this country. I really think that someone in that position should be SMARTER than Joe sixpack.. please!!!!
(stepping off box)

So, it's abouther beautiful day in Colorado. Although the days are shorter and the nights colder, it is nice to be able to pull out the blankets.
talk later....
